Sequoia Middle School is the designated GATE Magnet site for middle school students in the Fontana Unified School District. Currently, Sequoia is home to approximately 300 GATE students. The program is centered on state academic standards and focuses on the interrelationships that exist in all scholastic areas. GATE students often participate in the award winning Visual and Performing Arts Department, which includes art, drama, instrumental, and vocal music. Additionally, students may take after-school GATE classes such as Art, Drama, Cooking, Creative Writing, Percussion Ensemble, Piano, Advanced Strings, History Investigations, and Swing/Salsa Dance.
